Account Information

When you sign in with GitHub, we receive your GitHub username, email address, and profile information. We use this to create and manage your Changesmith account.

Repository Data

When you connect a repository, we access:

• Commit messages and metadata (author, date, SHA)
• Pull request titles and descriptions
• Issue titles and descriptions
• Release and tag information

We do not store your source code. We only read code diffs temporarily when needed for context during changelog generation.

Usage Data

We collect basic usage analytics to improve our service, including pages visited, features used, and error reports.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Generate changelogs from your repository data
• Publish releases to GitHub on your behalf
• Send you notifications about generated changelogs
• Process payments and manage your subscription
• Improve our service and fix bugs

AI Processing

We use Anthropic's Claude AI to analyze your commits and generate changelogs. Your commit messages and related metadata are sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic does not use this data to train their models. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy for more information.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• GitHub — to read repository data and publish releases
• Anthropic — to process commits with AI
• Stripe — to process payments
• Resend — to send email notifications

Data Retention

We retain your account information and generated changelogs as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time, which will remove all associated data.

Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure credential storage, and regular security audits.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Revoke GitHub access at any time
